Just in case you haven't heard yet, a major flaw has been discovered in Kryptonite U-Locks and possibly other brands using tubular key technology. Through Internet bike forums the word got out that u-locks could be opened with bic plastic pens. Pretty amazing but true The good news is that Kryptonite is upgrading all the locks bought within 2 years and offering discounts on trade-ins older than 2 years. In order to get your new lock from Kryptonite you'll need proof of purchase. If you bought your lock at BAB and lost your receipt just stop by and we'll reprint one for you. Here are a few links with more details on the story: Bike Forums Posting: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=66128&page=1&pp=25">Read Movie showing process: http://thirdrate.com/misc/krypto.mov">Watch Kryptonite official statement: http://www.kryptonitelock.com/inetisscripts/abtinetis.exe/templateform@public?tn=urgent_update">Read Feel free to post comments or new updates so we can all be informed. At Bay Area Bikes we are waiting for further detaild from Kryptonite and in the meant time we are stocking flat key locks. Ride Safe, David Bay Area Bikes Reach me anytime at david@bayareabikes.com
