Outside Magazine calls the Boda Boda from Yuba the Best Utility Bike under $1000. Read all about it! It’s the minivan of bicycles, though with more panache than that designation suggests. If you’ve ever dreamt of ditching your car once and for all for a two-wheeled lifestyle, the Boda Boda might just be the perfect replacement.
Giant Escape 2 and Escape 2W
Consumer Digest (August 2012) gives the Escape 2 and Liv/giant Escape 2W the "Best Buy" rating for Hybrid and Comfort Bikes. “The inexpensive Escape 2 has better parts than what you would find on hybrid bikes that cost $100 more. The highlights include a high-quality aluminum frame (most others are steel in this price range), a 24-speed drivetrain (21 speeds are more common) and double-wall aluminum rims that we believe will hold up better over time than do the single-wall hoops that are typical among economy models.”
Giant Trance X3
In the October edition, Mountain Bike Action sets out to discover “What’s the Best Way to Spend $2000” in the October 2012 issue. Editors asked five bike companies to send their best trailbikes in this price range. Giant chose the Trance X3 to represent -- and guess what the MBA Wrecking Crew found? “This is the best all-around trailbike in this category, hands down. Best all-around bike by a long shot…This bike does it all…a solid pedaling platform that’s also confidence-inspiring on the descents…a great bike simply because it works.”
Giant TCX Advanced SL
Cyclocross Magazine (August 2012) says of the Giant TCX Advanced SL: "This is the stiffest cyclocross bike I have ridden. It’s efficient for sure, and on a smooth surface or under an all-out sprint, it will go where you want…Acceleration is unwavering…and handling is razor sharp. I have never experienced riding a bike with a frame and fork that feels this totally integrated.” Now you, too, can ride what the pros ride (and win) on.
Giant Trinity Composite
Consumer Digest in August 2012 also gave the Trinity Composite 2 (triathalon bike) its "Best Buy" rating in road bikes. "The Trinity Composite 2 is the only model that we found at this price that has a full carbon-fiber frame and has innovations that cut back on wind resistance better than other triathlon-specific road bikes do. For example, this model’s brakes are concealed cleverly within the frame to improve airflow, which you’ll find only on models that cost thousands more. We believe that this model also has the best combination of components on a triathlon bike that costs less than $3000.”
Giant Trance X 29er 0
Bike Radar says of the big-wheeled brute Trance X 29er 0: “First impressions suggest the big-wheeled Trance will be an ideal trail munching machine... Add in the trail-leveling 29in wheels, big tires, excellent suspension, solid build kit and stock dropper post and it’s quite the machine for devouring long stretches of technical trail.”
